Our Water

Having been a plumber and a plumbing company business owner over the last 20 some years, I have become very knowledgeable and conscious about our most precious resource, water. I read nearly everything that I can get my hands on as it pertains to water, conservation, and renewable energy.

It never ceases to amaze me as to how we continue to waste water. In the coming years, I truly believe that water will be the most consuming topic on everyone’s mind. In a little over a year, I will be 50 years old. I believe wars will be fought over water IN MY LIFETIME. I’m not a doomsayer by any stretch, I’m just a realist. The population keeps doubling. Each time it doubles, it takes half as long as it took to double the last time. In 1950, there were about 3 billion people on the planet. Now there is more than 7 billion. The fresh water supply is a finite amount. At what point to we realize this?

I’m not a radical and I don’t spend my days obsessing about it, but I am concerned. People of the not too distant future will be scratching their heads and thinking, “What was their deal? They used water, FRESH CLEAN WATER, to dispose of their waste! UNBELIEVABLE!”
